Is there a new 12 month warranty on a replacement iPhone that has been provided under warranty? Or does the same 12 month warranty period continue from when the original iPhone was purchased?

Usually, warranty starts to run from zero only once you buy new parts, even spare parts. So if you pay for getting your display replaced, the display will have a new 12 months warranty. If you get a free warranty repair for your phone during your warranty period, there is no effect on the remaining duration of warranty.
