Waterproof

My phone fell in a bucket of water and the the Face ID stopped working

iPhones are not waterproof and water damage is not covered under warranty. You’ll need to pay for an out of warranty replacement. If you have AppleCare+ you can use one of your two accidental damage claims to reduce the OoW replacement fee.
