Having trouble with alarms. Does not seem to work. Is something different. There used to be a little alarm clock icon when alarm was set

In the latest iPhone models the notch takes up a lot of space in the status bar at the top, and some symbols/numbers can no longer be shown. To see the "alarm clock" icon, you can open Control Center and you'll be able to see that.
