macbook pro 13 (intel) 2020 not charging

I've reset NVRAM and SMC - tried unplugging and re-plugging into the different USB-C ports - the menu bar battery icon indicates no power adapter detected and battery is currently down to 9%. (running 10.15.7) I've had a couple of situations in the past months where plugging in power took a couple of minutes for the macbook to acknowledge (updated menubar icon with lightning bolt icon and audible charging tone). Anything else I should try before this laptop dies and I need to take in for repair?

UPDATE: I left the laptop plugged in overnight and lo and behold, this morning, it's fully charged!! All day I left it plugged in while using and everything seemed fine. I then decided to run Diagnostics (start holding down "D") - no issues found (code ADP000), reboot, and now it's back to it's tricks - no amount of plugging in/out causes it to recognise that there's a power source connected.
