(Using MacOS Big Sur 11.1) In IMovie how do you remove the video from a clip, insert a photo in that area, but keep the audio track?

I want to remove a section of video in place with no affect to anything else (iMovie 10). Remove from the middle without having the entire video's length change. edit video clips in Photos or linked from Photos When I play slideshow within Photos consisting of photos and video clips (from my Garmin GPS car camera), the video clip audio is irrelevant and annoying. Is there a simple way from within Photos to edit out or suppress the video's audio track without resorting to iMovie? I know I can turn down the audio from the play controls on each individual video clip while it's playing, but that doesn't persist. I would like a simple video editing extension to Photos so I can edit the video file in place without exporting it, editing it with a complicated video app like iMovie, and re-importing it into Photos.

iMovie audio - how to move a selected audio clip to the beginning of the movie I am making a movie consisting of still pictures. I dropped an audio clip down below the pictures. I trimmed the beginning of the audio clip because I want to skip the intro measures of the music. The clip now starts at the tenth picture. How do I drag it to the left to start with the first picture ?

Hi, valtaro,

Put your cursor on the audio clip and, while pressing down, pull the clip straight down until you pull off the coupler that attaches it to the video clip above. The audio will then be nested in one of the lower audio wells and will be independent of the video clip. You can now remove the video clip and still keep the audio track.
