I am new to Apple MacBook Air. Should I keep the MacBook Air Plugged in all the time or will this hurt the battery life

Hey Mac Users. I am first time / new to Apple MacBook Air. Should I keep the MacBook Air Plugged in all the time or will this hurt the battery life and should just charge it up and then let it drain down. Also not I have it plugin to a external monitor which does me to keep it plugged in unless I keep the MacBook Air with the NEW M1 chip open all the time.
