Follow the instructions in this guide published by Apple ➔ Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

One thing to note and that is that are you certain that you have an iPhone 6s and not an iPhone 6? I am asking because if you an iPhone 6 then you cannot update it past iOS version 12.5. To double check which model you have, open Settings ➔ General ➔ About ➔ Model Name : Which model does it show here?
