It is hard to help you when you pretty much provide zero information about your year and model iPad and which version of the Apple Pencil you are using?

What model of Apple Pencil? What model of iPad? How are you trying to connect it? Please explain your issue in detail as otherwise we have no idea what may be happening.

It is a first gen Apple Pencil and a 3rd gen iPad Air.
