Apple watch screen too dark, won't brighten

My apple watch screen has become quite dim and will not respond to the brightness options either on the watch or the iphone app. What's happening?

Hey there TheBubble3,

Being able to use your watch is important, and we'd like to help rule out some possible causes:

  1. If you have a compatible iPhone model you're pairing with your watch, the latest version is 14.3. You can verify which version number is installed within Settings > General > About. Here's a link that'll show how to first back up, then Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
  2. The latest version for compatible watch models is watchOS 7.2. You can verify which version number is installed within Settings > General > About. Here's a link that'll show how to Update your Apple Watch.
  3. If both devices are already up to date, we'd recommend restarting both devices. This link shows how to Restart your iPad, and this one shows How to restart your Apple Watch.
  4. If there's a covering on the watch screen, please remove it, then test for the same issue.
