I read so many articles but couldn't get any clear trusted answer.

Whichever you prefer. I shut my computer down whenever I step away from it. Others just put it to sleep. Shutting it down clears cache and memory.

I keep mine plugged in when convenient to do so. Doing so reduces the rate of accumulation of battery cycles. Neither your computer nor battery will be damaged by leaving it plugged in.
