iPhoto not supported

Is there any way to open iPhoto on a macbook running catalina?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

Nope. Photos replaced iPhoto years ago.

Launch Photos with the option key held down. From the resulting dialog, choose your iPhoto Library. Photos will create a new library from your iPhoto media. Your old iPhoto Library will not be changed, though it will be renamed.
