Apple Maps Crashing in CarPlay

Hello, I use Apple Maps daily while driving in my car, but it's become UNUSABLE after the last software release. I am running the current iOS on my iPhone 12, and when connected to CarPlay in my Jeep Grand Cherokee, the app crashes right in the middle of giving me directions. This tends to happen when switching between Maps and Music/Podcasts, but it also happens when I receive texts. It's extremely annoying and almost dangerous for it to crash and distract the driver like that when we rely on it for route guidance. Is anyone else having this problem?

Hello, this article does not address my issue. Nor did the most recent iOS software update. Still happening!
