Mail Program in MacOS Big Sur

I just downloaded Mac OS Big Sur on my laptop. My question is about the Mail program on Big Sur. On the old operating system, when I deleted an email, it went into the Trash folder. Now when I delete an email, it is gone and nowhere to be found. Is there a way to change this on Big Sur so that I can click the Trash icon and the email will be sent to the Trash file?
