Migration to iCloud Family storage

If my Son accepts an invite to join my iCloud Family Storage plan will he lose the saved data in his own 50Gb plan or will it all migrate to the Family plan.

No, he will not lose his data in iCloud, and there's no need for him to migrate anything.
