My father-in-law passed away and his iPad is activation locked. We do not have his Apple ID/Password. Is there anyway to undue the lock and restore the device?

My father-in-law passed away and his iPad is activation locked. We do not have his Apple ID/Password. Is there anyway to undue the lock and restore the device?

Contact Apple. They need to see a copy of the death certificate and a copy of the will or a document that shows you inherited it.
