I have an older wireless keyboard, model # A1314 (2 AA battery). I started using NIMH rechargable batteries in all of my devices. To my utter surprise, the keyboard would not function with these batteries. IS battery 1.2 voltage the cause? These batteries work fine with the trackpad and the 10-key add on.

With some batteries the + bump is not tall enough to reach the recessed + contact in the keyboard. Dropping a crumpled small piece of metal foil into the hole for the + contact should make it work.

I have been having similar trouble with this keyboard model. Some the NIMH batteries will power it for a couple of weeks and others will not even boot up the keyboard.
See answer below. I added a tiny piece of foil to the battery and everything has worked fine since.
