I updated my late 2012 iMac to Catalina last night. Now my Thumbnail Previews aren't really working. Only a few will show up in each folder. Like maybe 4 out of 40. The rest just say JPEG or PSD. Any idea why this is happening and what can I do to fix it?

I still had the issue when booting in safe mode and still when booting again regularly.
I didn't have ANY issues before updating from High Sierra to Catalina. I only did the update because Photoshop CC wouldn't update without a newer version. Is it possible my computer just can't take Catalina? Should I try Mojave, or maybe try reloading Catalina?
Boot into Safe Mode by booting with the Shift key held down and check there to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.
NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 10 minutes as it's doing the following;
• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed
• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading
• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically
• Disables user-installed fonts
• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files
Thanks. I've tried that. I double checked that "Show icon preview" is checked. I've even turned it off and then back on several times, just to make sure. It's odd to me because not all files are affected. Most, but not all, some still show the preview.
Go to the folder in the screenshot and under View menu make sure you have this checked:
You have have to do that for each folder affected.
I'm using a Sony A7RII, and it's Photoshop 22..0.1. I've been using this camera for years with no issues, and I'm having other thumbnail previews not working as well. Some jpegs from the internet and even some document files.
Here is a print screen to show what I'm talking about. Also, I just upgraded the memory from 24 to 32 hoping maybe it would fix the issue, but it did not.

As a test open a couple of photos with Photoshop and re-save. Does that trigger the preview to show?
No, that didn't do anything. I did notice when I'm in Photoshop and I go to "open", I can see a lot more of the thumbnail previews, but still not all.

Do you ever use APS-C lenses on your camera or some kind of converter or speed booster?
I use the e-mount Sony lenses, but I don't use any converters or speed boosters.
