Sudden restarts post Big Sur update when ethernet cable is plugged in
A couple of days ago I updated my Macbook Pro 16" operating system from Catalina to Big Sur 11.0.1. Worked great for a day and the next day my laptop just randomly shut off without warning. (Note: I had no issues prior to the update) It would restart on its own and go to main login screen. Once password was entered it would load about 25% of the way before shutting off. After several rounds of that. I ended up just shutting down computer at login screen and finally got the computer to load up. I just reinstalled Big Sur in restore mode but kept getting the random/sudden restarts with warning. After some trail and error I found that the Ethernet/LAN connection could be the reason for the random/sudden restarts. While operating strictly on WiFi, it runs perfect. Once the ethernet cable is plugged into my 8 in 1 thunderbolt adapter, the Macbook Pro will suddenly shut off and restart within a few minutes. Has anyone experienced this issue? Does anyone know what might be the cause and solution to this problem?
