how to upgrade ssd macbook air?

it think 2017 was the last year one could swap or add another ssd drive on a MacBook air

i dont think the 2020 MacBook airs even the M1 have that feature,

you could erase your ssd drive to clear all your data and fun stuff

im sure someone will post a link on how to do that.

As an alternative, you could get a larger external SSD in an enclosure, clone your internal to it and then use the external as your regular boot disk. After you make sure that everything works, you could then delete everything off your internal and use that as a backup/extra storage disk. Look at OWC for externals:
