i am trying to update my Mac to macOS Big Sur, unfortunately i need an additional 30 gb, what are my options?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

Basically, delete stuff. Move it to an external drive if you prefer,

Tried that, still not enough free space, would it be apps to put an external hard drive?
