Can someone tell me how to turn the US iphone8 shutter sound for camera off?

Use the mute switch on the side of the phone just above the volume buttons. Or, use the volume buttons to turn the volume all the way down.
If neither of those work, you have a phone that was intended for sale in a country where that action is not permitted (e.g. Japan, Korea).
