Hello, my MacBook Air recently just started receiving text messages, I hadn't before and I'm not sure what changed. I did not receive the text that went through to my MacBook to my Google Phone. I tried disabling it and logging out, but I still didn't receive the texts still. I signed back in to check and there were messages there that I still didn't get through my phone. Not sure what happened but would appreciate help!
Android phones cannot send or receive iMessages. They work with SMS text messages only. In order to send/receive SMS text messages on your Mac, you need to have an iPhone configured for SMS text messaging forwarding.
SMS texting is a service provided by your (or their) cellular voice provider, not Apple. That would be iMessages. I suggest that you contact your cellular provider to see if there may be something amiss with their service to your phone.
Right. Absolutely. But I have never had an issue receiving any of my SMS texts to my phone. I'm not trying to receive texts on my MacBook Air, just SMS texts on my phone. For some reason, at random, I just started receiving messages on my MacBook Air though.
