Mail app fails to import new emails on Big Sur

Since updating to Big Sur, my new emails do not appear in the Mail app. If I press the 'get new mail' icon, that doesn't work either, so I have to quit mail and re-open it and then it imports the new mail.

Fixed with Apple Support. Deleted and re-instated iCloud account

Big Sur emails disappear I have several email accounts. When I get new msgs I can open them up separately and read them, but if I leave some there and switch to another account, the first account inbox is empty when I go back. The "missing" msgs ARE in "All inboxes", but I want to able to keep my inboxes separate as before! Any ideas?

Mail using Big Sur 11.2, can't open Mail Preferences I can't open Mail Preferences any longer, just get the spinning ball and have to use Force Quit to get out. This occurs whether or not I have looked at any mail. I have put off upgrading to 11.3 or 11.4 because Mail seems to be getting worse with each new upgrade.

I have noticed in the Accounts/Server Settings I have no option available to set the Incoming Server, only the outgoing
