Hey there George Hilton,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We understand you’re having issues accessing a website via Safari on your iPad. We’ll be happy to help with this.

If you’re having issues opening a website using Safari on an iPad, try force closing the app and restarting your iPad:

How to force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Restart your iPad

Make sure your iPad is up to date:

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Then try accessing the site from another network. If you’re on a VPN or using a captive or public network, disconnect and try from a different connection.

We hope this helps.

Take care.
