Can I make the menu bar opaque in Big Sur?

Just upgraded to Big Sur on a MacBook Air (Retina, 13-inch, 2020). Many of the changes are okay with me. A fair number are not useful to me given that I mostly write and surf.

But I find the translucent menu bar mega-annoying. I found the following Terminal commands from 2007:

sudo defaults write

/System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.WindowServer 'EnvironmentVariables' -dict 'CI_NO_BACKGROUND_IMAGE' 1

Will that work in Big Sur as well?

Easier:

SystemPreferences -> Accessibility -> Display -> Reduce Transparency
