Inconsistent volume on HomePod

I have two brand new HomePods. Both have been updated to the most current software as of 11/14/20. When playing songs from Apple Music through an Apple TV 4K or from my iPhone 11 the volume is all over the place. Sound check on or off for all devices involved. This will even happen with the same song. If it starts playing too quietly and I restart the song the volume will be fine. Is there some other solution for this besides sound check?

Use Feedback - HomePod - Apple to let Apple know. I suspect you will have to wait for a fix in the next firmware.
