Messages won't open after Big Sur update

I did a refresh install of Big Sure (Command R when powered off and starting up) then when disk utility opened I installed Big Sur again. That fixed that problem with messages, also copy and paste to IOS iPadOS devices.

A temporary work-around is to open Calendar, Once you do that you should be able to access your Address Book and Messages.

I might have to call Apple to see what they can do because I've tried restarting my computer, force quitting and all that fun stuff. Once they fix it, I'll try to come back here and relate the message to help you out!

Did anyone get this fixed? Having the same problem.

Did anyone get a fix for message app not opening sometimes with Big Sur installed on Mac Pro. Some times it will open, then the next time you boot up it will not open.

No I am not having issues with Apple mail program. Just Message & Contact.

This worked! but why?? I'm running Big Sur 11.1 just upgraded today from Catalina straight to 11.1

I don’t know the reason. I am hoping that someone from apple engineering will look at this discussion, realize there’s an issue and find the source of the problem

Did a fresh install like suggested. Now my message & contacts apps do not work with every boot up. Sometimes they work sometimes they don't.

If anyone is experiencing a slow response in download of e-mail, opening of Calendar seems to take care of that as well.
