I have the new iphone 12 pro... and when someone calls me, it shows me the callers name, and not the phone number... but I really need to know the number that is calling too... anyone know how to fix this?

I would like to know the number that is calling me for people that are not stored in my phone. now my phone somehow gets the callers name, and is not providing their phone number when they call (but i would like to know area code, and number they are calling from before i decide to answer)

That was a fault in the old phone
It should show only the name if that number is in your contacts.
If they have two numbers that you need to distinguish then put in two contact entries
John Doe-home
John Doe-work
Or remove the entry completely.
thanks for your reply but its not always the case. I'm really just working for a fix to find out how i can see a phone number for someone that is calling my iphone 12 pro (and not just their name) I would be happy with removing their name and only providing a phone number (for people not stored in my phone)
I spent several hours on the phone with verizon. they said there is no fix. but i am trying to download an app called "call filter" to see if I can get the phone numbers back. So far no luck... still trying.
I have exactly the same issue, all of a sudden, non-contacts are coming in and showing as Wireless Caller or No Caller ID, it does show the city from where the call is coming from. After I dont answer and IF they leave a VM the phone number shows. If no VM it does not show phone number in recents. I went to settings, phone, and I dont have caller id, wireless calls or call forwarding in the list and where it should be, just not there. So far the tech person at Verizon could not figure it out, had me do a hard reset and also a software update for IOS14.2 I am waiting....Is this only Iphone 12 pro?
unfortunately verizon is zero help, they basically told me i would have to go to another provider.
Sadly I'm not sure theres a fix until verizon realizes its a non-negotiable problem that their consumers need. or the solution is to go to another provider...
Are you saying your old iphone showed both?
the old phone showed the phone number, sometimes it would "guess" the callers name, but the phone number was always displayed.
If only a name appears and they are NOT in contacts then they are a corporate (or spoof) caller hiding their number.
Send them to voicemail unless the name makes sense

Your profile dies not show a country
State your country and network provider and maybe someone else can help

Just upgraded to iphone12 (not Pro) over the weekend from 6S and have noticed the same thing. Numbers in my contacts are even coming up as No Caller ID. Also Verizon, USA.
It did not work, In settings to phone, under calls my phone ONLY shows WiFi calling, Calls on other Devices and Respond w/ Text,
I do not have Caller ID, Call Waiting or Call Forwarding........HELP
I spent some time with Verizon, too. Updated OS to 14.2, no luck. They recommended connecting to Mac and doing a reinstall of OS from there. Haven't done that yet ... not happy about this at all.
