iPad Air (3rd Generation) screen freezing.

I have an iPad Air (3rd Generation) and I have been having issues of late with my screen freezing or becoming non-responsive.  For example, i would have to tap the Safari icon multiple times before the application comes up.  How do i fix this issue?

Start with this basic troubleshooting step, a "forced" restart of your iPad:

  • iPad models with Face ID: Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then press and holdthe Power button until the device restarts.
  • iPad models with Home button, iPhone 6s or earlier, and iPod touch (6th generation) or earlier: Press and hold both the Home and the Top (or Side) buttons until you see the Apple logo.
