In some text messages I am unable to dsiplay the message bar in imessaging with my iphone X and thus cannot text. Some text messages it works fine. Is it possible for the message to be too long or too many people on one message? I tried hard reboot but that didn't help. What else might I try? I don't want to delete the whole message but perhaps a part of it.

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today with your iPhone X and the missing message bar. It sounds like you can't text.
It does appear your iPhone is still on iOS 13. We'd suggest updating to iOS 14.1: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
