Any idea why my iPod won't sync with my iTunes library? The cable is fine, but it will not sync.

In Catalina syncing is managed through Finder rather than Music. You might want to see my user tip Corrupt iPod Classic - Apple Community and check on the health of the device's hard drive.

Hi TT2. I am not sure what is going on. My iPod is showing on the desk top and the top line of music, but there is also a swirling circle and the message "The Selected Device could not be found". "Sync settings" in the top line is greyed out.
Any ideas gratefully received.
See Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using your computer - Apple Support. Have you set up sync selections in Finder? You may still need to restore the device to get Catalina to play ball.

I found that I had to restore my previously Windows formatted iPod classic before it would sync correctly with Catalina.

Thanks. The iPod was mac formatted. Not sure why it won't sync. I have run disc utility on it, but without success.
