How to reset AirPods 2nd gen?

I wanted to reset my 2nd Gen AirPods. I’m having issues however. I press the button on the back for 20secs (or more). They don’t connect. They just keep flashing green (the light on the front of the case) 4 or 5 times, brief pause, than repeats the 4 or 5 flashes, over and over. Any suggestions for reconnecting them? They did work, I just wanted to make sure they were proper volume. Thanx in advance.
