Sync delay in activity between iPhone and Apple Watch

The Activity app (Fitness) isn't giving me correct readings in widget unless i open the app. There is a delay in syncing between my iPhone and Watch. Tried resetting my iPhone and Watch, unpairing and pairing once again and i even deleted all my watch data from the phone but nothing seems to fix it. Any help?
