iMac black screen

I have a iMac 27 inch late 2012 that's worked for me with no problems till recently when one day I tried to boot it up and the screen is black. It doesn't connect to an external monitor. One day it started working again and then the next day it went back to the same black screen and hasn't changed since. It still does the startup sound that Macs usually do.

iMac 27″, macOS 10.15

Likely a display failure or if you are lucky a backlight failure, worst case is a GPU failure. Whichever you should take it to a Apple Authorized Service Provider to be diagnosed.
