Taking calls on Apple Watch when phone is switched on - but out of range

HI there

If I have buy an Apple Watch 6 with LTE - if I leave my phone at home (but switched on) and someone calls me - will the call get re-routed to my watch - or will it go to the phone (and will I then miss the call ?). What I’d like to be able to do i leave my phone at home when walking - but have inbound calls automatically routed to my watch - is that possible ?
