Iphone 12 lightning cable

How come they said Apple 12 will come with a braided cable, more string than the usual and when I unboxed it i find the same poor cable?

Apple lied us or it was a mistake?

iPhone cable I bought a new iPhone SE (2) a year ago. It came with a cable that doesn't connect to the phone or anything - one end has a standard USB connector, the other a strange end that doesn't connect to the phone or anything I have..... here is a comparison photo - the standard cable that inserts properly into the phone and the other end to a power source and on the left the cable that connects to nothing but came with the phone. What is it for???

I have seen rumors that Apple might ship a braided cable with the iPhone 12 but I have never seen a statement from Apple that they were.
