Any advice anyone can give me about connecting the BenQ SW270C to a MacBook Pro would be appreciated. Also I am still running Moajave - should I update to Catalina?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.14
I use 2 GW2270 BenQ monitors with no issue, before with my 2016 MacBook using both hdmi and vga ports, now with a 2020 MacBook using the USB C ports and an adapter.
