how to remove visual voicemail

The audio in visual voicemail playback is barely audible even with the volume all the way up. Visual voicemail is not listed in settings and I want to remove it and use regular voicemail. How does one remove visual voicemail? I have an iphone11 and I am running ios 14. Thank you for your attention.

Visual Voicemail by default plays your voicemail through the phone speaker. That's the one on top that you have to hold the phone up to your face to hear, as if you were on a phone call.

After you tap a voicemail message, there should be a play button to the left and 3 other buttons to the right. One of them will switch to playing through both speakers at speakerphone volume. Have you tried that?

The volume problem does not occur during regular calls nor is there a problem with the volume during playback of videos or music. It is only with the playback of visual voicemail.

I have talked with spectrum mobile support and they also suggested using regular voicemail by calling my phone number and initiating playback through the automated menus and the volume works fine. I suspect the volume problem will have to be addressed through an update to the visual voicemail app. It is somewhat disconcerting to me and that visual voicemail nor voicemail are listed as apps in my settings. It is what it is. Thank you for reaching out Steph. Have a great Apple day.
