Unable to unpair Apple Watch because I no longer have the iPhone it was paired to

I am trying to connect my apple watch to my new phone but i need to disconnect it from my old phone which i no longer have. I also can't connect it because it needs an update which requires my old phone also.

Without that apple id the watch is of no use to you.

About Activation Lock


Remove the activation lock

On a computer, go to iCloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID.

Go to Find Iphone.

Select All Devices, then click your Apple Watch.

Click Erase Apple Watch.

Select Next until the device is erased.

Click the remove button next to your Apple Watch.
