Orange dot on my screen each time I make a phone call

I’ve noticed an orange dot on my screen each time I make a phone call; The dot is up near the location symbol, and has been there ever since I downloaded the IOS upgrade; Does anyone know what it means? Is someone listening to my phone calls?
