Quit Mail greyed out

I'm having problems shutting down because Mail is not allowing me to quit due to that selection being greyed out, can anyone help please?

Its a real nuisance as its forced me to consider changing to another mail app but I really like Mail

I'm running Catalina 10.15.7 on a 2019 MacBook Pro Touch Bar.
