Mail - capitalization

Because of certain business requirements, I often need to type proper names in all caps. Mail keeps automatically changing them to the more traditional uppercase first letter and remainder in lower case. Any way to stop this?

There are several places in which autocorrect settings may be found.

  • If that occurs only in the Mail app, you are likely to find it in Mail's Preferences... > Composing.
  • If it occurs system-wide, check System Preferences... > Keyboard > Text.
  • If you are using any number of non-Apple system modifications investigate their settings also.
