erased disk cannot reboot get question mark on screen

I erased my MacBook pro disk to do a factory reset.. On restart,disk, cannot reboot to get internet and reinstall osx. Just get question mark in a file icon on the screen. How would I reinstall osx from here?

i can't reinstall Mac OS My MacBook pro has suddenly switched off and went grey with a question marked folder. I follow the steps and click command+R and then selected the network, clicked fisk utilities and i dont see Macintosh so i click disk0s2 and then i try to erase it and it wont let me as the erase option is faded. i go to reinstall and it wont give me an option of the disk. I did an erase on my mac book air and now all i get is a flashing question mark I erased my MacBook Air but it doesn't give me a choice to reinstall the OS. All I get is a flashing question mark. How do I reinstall the OS if I don't have startup disk?

If Recovery is not booting locally nor over the network (and older Macs lack that support), you will need to use another Mac to download the newest version of macOS supported by your Mac, build a bootable installer, and then boot that.
