Greetings, Arbidgeo.

It appears that you're having a problem updating your iPhone 7 to iOS 14.0.1 wirelessly. You receive a message that the update can't be verified because your iPhone is no longer connected to the internet. We understand how important it is to have your iPhone up to date, and we're glad to help with this.

Restart your iPhone - Apple Support -- Restart your iPhone and see if you're able to complete the update once your phone is back to the Home screen.

If your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch won’t update - Apple Support -- If you're still unable to update your iPhone wirelessly, use the steps in this section of the article to remove the update file and download it again. Once it's removed, make sure your iPhone is connected to Wi-Fi and not a Personal Hotspot.

Let us know how that goes.

Take care.
