ipad is fully charged will not come on or come to life was on and couple of hours later tried to open and nothing just black screen

no do not have a pc/mac and i have tried to contact apple support but they say my serial number is not valid i have had ipad since march 2012
IPAD WILL NOT TURN ON... IS CHARGED FULLY, WAS ON AND COUPLE OF HOURS LATER TRIED TO OPEN WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING
