Hello , I will like to ask if on a MacBook Pro we can change the connection of the display or we can change only the display ?

Thank you for contacting Apple Community.
If you have an issue with the connection or the connection is damaged, of course you will have to bring your MacBook Pro to the closest Apple Service Disk or An Official Apple Service Provider. In case of damage then the display will need to be replaced. Connection only is not an option to replace.

I went my laptop to a certificate service of Apple and the told that they change the connection of the display and the problem it’s not there , so we need to change the display .
So you have a MacBook Pro 2016, 2TBT3 or 4TBT3. 13 inch or 15 inch. No possibility of Display cable to be replaced. What they might meant to replace is the eDP cable from Logic Board to Display connection.
It’s 15, I don’t know for the other quest but I can give you the serial number. Maybe but like I see Apple says that is a problem with the display connection and it’s change it for free.

I see the issue. If you were told that it would be replaced for free it means your MBP is still in warranty service or you as a customer claims consumer law coverage. This is indeed an eDP cable issue. It will be fixed by replacing the eDP cable.

Apple Service Desk and Apple Official Service Provider does not change display cables. The whole Display needs to be replaced.
Can you specify what model is your MBP?
