How do I hide the white/grey home bar?

I need assistance in knowing how to hide the “home bar”. It interferes with screenshot and screen recordings.

I am aware that app developers may have this as an automatic function for videos, but it would be useful to apply it it universally.

To be clear, I don’t want to remove the function itself, I just need to hide the visualisation of the home bar.

Swiping up from the bottom shouldn’t interfere with the hiding of the white/grey home bar.
