Scary blare

When I use Maps in CarPlay, occasionally the voice directions blare at full volume and scares the bejesus out of me. I've tried adjusting volume controls on the phone settings and the CarPlay volume but to no avail. I've checked with the tech specialist at Subaru and they don't have any idea either. Does anyone else have this problem? And, if so, is there a way to fix it?
