MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2.53GHz, Mid 2009) I have El Capitan software and Im not able to update i don't know why?

I can't update my macbook the oldest version I have is El Capitan and many apps I can't use because its says I have to update...

That is the last version of MacOS supported for the graphics and processor chips used in that MacBook Pro.


To move to a later MacOS, you also have to move to a later computer.
