export quicktime from iMovie

iMovie fails to complete any export of a project to a finished file format that can be opened by Quicktime. The application locks up and shuts down prior to completing. What's wrong?

iMovie Export I've exported an mp4 file to my desktop. Received a message that the export was complete. But can't open the file in Quicktime. The thumbnail of the file will play though (not very useful). Now can't even delete the file from the desktop Using iMovie 10.1.13, OS 10.15.1

Exporting in imovie halted Hi, I cannot seem to get imovie to export the movies any more. The circle that shows progress pops up for a millisecond then vanishes. I've cleared space in my computer, and I've deleted the preferences in imovie and still no luck. During the pandemic shelter in place I have to shoot a bunch of demos for students, and this problem has just started. I don't have time to learn a whole new application, since it also has to run on google classroom and the .mov's were working great for a while. Please help! thanks!

Hi, Randomaccess99,

It could be a corrupt preference. Try deleting preferences.

Open iMovie while holding down the Option

and Command keys and select to delete preferences in the box that appears.

iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your

projects. Now see if you can share out.
